Brazos G Region<br />
The Brazos G <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Water</strong> Planning Area<br />
includes all or parts of 37 counties.<br />
The Brazos G <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Water</strong> Planning Area includes all or parts of 37 counties (Figure G.1). Over 90 percent of<br />
the region lies within the Brazos River Basin, with the Brazos River being the region’s primary source of water.<br />
The largest economic sectors in the region are service, manufacturing, and retail trade. Major cities in the region<br />
include Abilene, Bryan, College Station, Killeen, Round Rock, Temple, and Waco. The 2011 Brazos (G) <strong>Regional</strong><br />

PLAN HIGHLIGHTS<br />
• Additional supply needed in 2060—390,732 acre-feet per year<br />
• Recommended water management strategy volume in 2060—587,084 acre-feet per year<br />

• Conservation accounts for 7 percent of 2060 strategy volumes<br />
• Five new major reservoirs (Brushy Creek, Cedar Ridge, Millers Creek Augmentation,* Turkey Peak*,<br />
Coryell County Reservoir*); three sites indicated * also recommended for designation as unique reservoir<br />
sites (Figure ES.7)<br />
• Conjunctive use strategies account for 12 percent of 2060 strategy volumes<br />
• Brazos River Authority System Operation strategy accounts for 14 percent of strategy volumes<br />
