10.2.1.2 Provide Secure Power Delivery<br />

Power is one <strong>of</strong> the most fundamental requirements for system and<br />

therefore information availability. Ensure sufficient power protection<br />

is available.<br />

10.2.1.3 Provide Automated Fire Response<br />

Fire can cause significant damage to system components as well as<br />

present a serious threat to employees and so fire control systems<br />

must be made available.<br />

10.2.1.4 Provide Water Shut<strong>of</strong>f<br />

Though necessary for facilities operations, water can be extremely<br />

detrimental to computer systems. To minimize system unavailability<br />

caused by water damage, water control systems must be available.<br />

10.2.1.5 Place Systems to Minimize Exposure to Hazards<br />

In order to minimize the exposure <strong>of</strong> system components to<br />

environmental hazards, either natural or not in nature, system<br />

components should be placed in facilities with care.<br />

10.3. Maintain Records<br />

Agencies should capture documentation appropriate to all physical security processes:<br />

• Create and maintain Access Logs for all facilities that host systems or system<br />

components.<br />

• Create and maintain Delivery and Removal Orders and Delivery and Removal<br />

Logs for all facilities that host systems or system components.<br />

• Create and maintain Facilities Environmental Control Logs for all facilities that<br />

host systems or system components.<br />
