3.10 Family Unit
A family unit cannot span more than two consecutive generations (e.g. a
young mother with child [family unit 2], living with her parents [family unit
1]). Ninety-one households took part in the survey, and findings show that
more than three-quarters of households (72; 79%) contained one family
unit and almost one-quarter (19; 21%) contained more than one family unit
(Table 12).
3.11 Age of household members
All respondents were asked how many people lived in their household and
the age of each member. In total, respondents provided information on age
for 268 household members. More than one-third (92; 34%) of household
members were aged between 25 and 39 and 47 (18%) were aged 50 or older.
More than one-tenth (42; 16%) of household members were aged between
40 and 49, 39 (15%) were aged between six and fifteen and 36 (13%) were
aged between 16 and 24. Fewer household members were aged five or
younger (12; 4%) (Figure 3: Table 13).
