<strong>Morobe</strong> <strong>Mining</strong> <strong>Joint</strong> <strong>Venture</strong> (MMJV) has been formed as a partnership between Harmony Gold and Newcrest <strong>Mining</strong> to explore<br />

and develop mines in the <strong>Morobe</strong> Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG). We are currently operating the Hidden Valley Mine in<br />

PNG, which will produce 4.2Mtpa of ore to obtain 350,000 gold equivalent ounces per annum. We also have advanced<br />

exploration programs in the Wafi region where significant gold and copper deposits have been discovered. Our other exploration<br />

programs cover tracts of the most prospective areas of <strong>Morobe</strong> Province and are yielding exciting results from which we intend<br />

to establish a platform for growth in the <strong>Joint</strong> <strong>Venture</strong>. Hidden Valley Gold Mine is the foundation of our business strategy.<br />

<strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong> <strong>Trainer</strong>/<strong>Supervisor</strong><br />

As a <strong>Mobile</strong> Equipment <strong>Trainer</strong>/<strong>Supervisor</strong> you be required to provide quality, timely and accurate mechanical<br />

training and technical support services to the <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong> department at our Hidden Valley operation. This<br />

will include undertaking reporting and scheduling of applicable training in an accurate and timely manner with an<br />

emphasis on auditing systems and training tools as required. You will ensure best practice is being undertaken in<br />

the workshop and operational environment which aligns with equipment availability targets and goals.<br />

Ensure that mechanical maintenance employees and contractors are trained and found competent in all<br />

aspects of the work requirements including health, safety and environmental related requirements.<br />

Provide a coaching and mentoring role to the mechanical maintenance employees.<br />

Ensure that all job instructions, JSEAs, SWIs are in place, reviewed and updated regularly.<br />

Provide training tools to enable maintenance and project tasks to be performed safely and effectively.<br />

Compliance to environmental standards and regulatory environmental requirements are maintained.<br />

Ensuring that the SOS, Preventive and Predictive <strong>Maintenance</strong> Programs are fully functional to achieve<br />

optimal life cycle costs.<br />

Analyse and reassess equipment maintenance requirements and frequencies and make recommendations<br />

to the maintenance planning department when changes are deemed necessary.<br />

Assisting in developing and working to short and long term maintenance plans.<br />

Liaise with mobile technical maintenance personnel to ensure that asset downtime is eliminated and assets<br />

are utilised optimally.<br />

Have the ability to evaluate equipment damage and to assess the extent of repairs required<br />

Control work flow to fully utilise repair machines and to maintain an effective work flow<br />

To be successful in this role you will have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment combined with a minimum of<br />

10 years’ experience in a relevant technical trade; ideally in a mining environment and as such possess broad<br />

experience in mobile mining equipment. You will have excellent planning and organizational skills and<br />

assertiveness with the ability to implement change. Communication is key, so strong interpersonal and relationship<br />

building skills are a must as well as an appreciation for PNG culture. The ability to speak Tok-Pisin will be highly<br />

regarded.


This role is FIFO to PNG on a 16/12 roster. An excellent salary package is on offer reflecting the skills and<br />

knowledge of the successful candidate.<br />
