THE KRAMPUS OF EAST TYROL IN FRONT OF THE OTTOBURG
RESTAURANT/OLD TOWN
These devilish Krampus figures sweep through the market sporting
animal skins and terrifying masks. In Innsbruck, this event does not
get out of hand and is safe.

ST. NICHOLAS PARADE AT MARKTPLATZ
St. Nicholas hands out small gifts to all the children, accompanied
by Christmas angels.

INNSBRUCK’S ST. NICHOLAS PARADE
Accompanied by a host of angels, St. Nicholas walks from St. Nikolaus
church to the Cathedral Square (Domplatz). Welcome address
by the Bishop and Mayor Christine Oppitz-Plörer.

PERFORMANCE BY THE “GÖTZNER ANKLÖPFLER” AT MARKTPLATZ
“Anklöpfeln” is a typical Tyrolean Christmas custom, in which singers
entertain with carols and proclaim the message of the birth of Jesus.

ST. NICHOLAS PARADE AND KRAMPUS RUN ON THE HUNGERBURG
St. Nicholas takes the funicular up to the Hungerburg and gives Santa
sacks to the children there. Followed by a “Krampus” (devils’) run.
