MINUTES BOARD OF SLWERVISORS, HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI MINUTE BOOK APRIL 2009 April 6, 2009, Item # 13 Supervisor WILLIAM W. MARTIN moved adoption ofthe following: ORDER TABLING THE REQUEST OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO APPROVE A ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT FILED BY THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE SMARTCODE FOR HARRISON COUNTY ZONING, CASE FILE 0903HCI03 ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, that the Board does HEREBY TABLE the request ofthe Planning Commission to approve a Zoning Text Amendment filed by The Ohio State University for the adoption ofthe SmartCode for Harrison County Zoning, case file 0903HCI03. Supervisor KIM B. SAVANT seconded the motion to adopt the above and foregoing order, whereupon the question was put to a vote with the following results: Supervisor W. S. SWETMAN III voted Supervisor KIM B. SAVANT voted Supervisor MARLIN R. LADNER voted Supervisor WILLIAM W. MARTIN voted Supervisor CONNIE ROCKCO voted AYE AYE AYE AYE AYE The motion having received the affinnative vote from the majority ofthe supervisors present, the motion was declared carried and the order adopted. April 6, 2009, Item # 14 ORDINANCE NO. 0903HC064 Supervisor KIM B. SAVANT moved the adoption ofthe following order: AN ORDER CONCURRING WITH THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO APPROVE A ZONING MAP AMENDMENT FILED BY ARLENE MURPHY FOR A 1 ACRE PARCEL OF LAND, THE PROPERTY IS CURRENTLY ZONED AS AN 1-1 (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL) DISTRICT. THE REQUEST IS TO CHANGE THE ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION TO AN R-l (LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Harrison County Board ofSupervisors finds and does so detennine under Section 906 and based upon the recommendation ofthe Harrison County Planning Commission and county departments, as well as its existing needs and development, and based upon a reasonable consideration ofthe character ofthe district and neighborhood and suitability for particular purposes, that the property which is generally described as a I-acre parcel ofland being located at 21265 Maggard Lane should be rezoned for the purpose ofpennanently placing a Mississippi Cottage as a guest cottage on the property. The subject property ad valorem tax parcel is 0509K-02-002.000. The case file is 0903HC064. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That the Official Zoning Map ofHarrison County Zoning Ordinance ofthe County ofHarrison, adopted the 28th day ofAugust, 2000, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended to provide that the following described property be rezoned from its present classification ofan I-I (Light Industrial) District to that ofa R-l (Low Density Residential) District.
