The Company
THETIS is an engineering and consultancy company providing integrated services in the fields of
environmental, civil and transportation engineering. The Company operates as systems integrator in
the development of projects, services and innovative technological applications in three business
areas:
Environmental Engineering - System studies on sustainable development of the territory;
remediation of polluted industrial areas; environmental monitoring systems and services.
Civil Engineering - Facility management; restoration and rehabilitation of historic buildings;
management of construction yards.
Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) - Planning and Fleet management systems for public
transport, freight transport and logistics applications; traffic and mobility management and control
systems. Maritime and inland navigation management systems (VTMIS, Vessel Traffic
Management Information Services).
Thetis' operating methods are directly derived from the procedures and experience that the company
has gained from its work on large international engineering projects. This constitutes a guarantee that
Thetis will achieve the envisaged results with respect for times and costs and in the context of a
highly professional relationship with the Client. Thetis's quality system is certified to ISO 9001.
ITS Expertise & Solutions
The ITS division developed expertise and experience in the daily interaction with the operative
structures of Public Transport Companies and contributes to organisation, procedure and interface
problems solution. Member of UITP and ERTICO, Thetis is involved in telematics applications for the
management of urban mobility, public transport service, garbage collection, freight transport and
logistics, inland waterways and port traffic monitoring.
The Company gained a reputation in Italy as a prime contractor for the development of innovative
AVM (Automatic Vehicle Monitoring) and fleet management systems for bus transport of various
Italian cities (Venice, Rome, Parma, Perugia, Vicenza). Actually, about 1700 buses and 800 multiutility
vehicles have been equipped with Thetis’ AVM systems.
Thanks to our involvement in international projects including European Union Framework Programmes
and other International Cooperation projects we apply global knowledge in a local context and provide
expertise in most aspects of transportation planning, engineering, monitoring, and operations.
