Iveco
The Company
Iveco designs, manufactures, and markets a broad range of light, medium and heavy commercial
vehicles, off-road trucks, city and intercity buses and coaches as well as special vehicles for
applications such as fire fighting, off-road missions, civil defence and protection.
Iveco employs 32,000 people and runs 43 production units in 18 Countries in the world using
excellent technologies developed in 15 research centres. Besides Europe, the company operates in
China, Russia, Turkey, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, and South Africa. More than 4,500 service outlets
in over 100 Countries guarantee technical support wherever in the world an Iveco vehicle is at work.
ITS Expertise & Solutions
Iveco believes that ITS are becoming one of the important tool for the productivity of the road
transport industry, and the offer should respond to a very complex group of demands from:

vehicle owners
vehicle users
drivers.
There is great variety of ITS solutions available today on offer by third party manufacturers and by
vehicle constructors themselves. The Iveco approach is based upon the requisites of transport
operators themselves rather than from the technologies, with three goals:

increased productivity, i.e. the capacity to work and create profit of the manpower/vehicle/fleet
system
better control of the transport process
extended security.
The solutions will be suitable for all the vehicles ranges: goods transport (light, medium and heavy),
passenger transport and special vehicles. The areas in which the advantages of the concept will be
more evident are:

Running costs: analysis of the vehicle/load data, management of maintenance,…
Transport efficiency: tracking the vehicle, management of orders/missions..
Efficient fleet management: evaluation of driving style, operative driver management,…
Adaptability to future standards.
The system will be modular for the entire Iveco product range, with an open telematic platform which
can also interface with the user’s consumer electronics.
