The Company<br />

CRF was founded in 1976 as an Engineering Centre providing R&D services to each of the different<br />

companies within the FIAT Group. Today, the links to FIAT Auto, IVECO, CNH and other FIAT<br />

companies remain as strong as ever. Moreover, over the last ten years, CRF has adopted a new<br />

strategy for extended collaboration, opening its doors to business with other companies and<br />

organisations which are seeking to achieve and maintain leadership in their respective fields of<br />

activity.<br />

ITS Expertise & Solutions<br />

CRF carries out research and technology scouting activities to provide all of CRF's clients with the<br />

most advanced and complex technologies and tools for:<br />

mobility and inter-mobility electro-telematic systems applied to private and public transport modes<br />

to improve the environment traffic conditions and safety, and to the personal environment to<br />

improve comfort, convenience and security;<br />

telematic control for utilities and processes;<br />

microsystems, one of the most important developing technological sectors in the automotive<br />

industry with investments expected to increase considerably in the future with the full penetration<br />

of MEMS/MST;<br />

nanotechnology, with a tremendously wide range of possible applications, from energy storage,<br />

high efficiency energy converters, new fuels, to super-tough and low friction coatings, iridescent<br />

paints, novel materials with electrical, mechanical, thermal and optical engineered properties,<br />

selective filters, electro-chromic coating, electro-optical films.<br />

Fiat Research Centre is engaged in several R&D projects aimed at designing and realizing innovative<br />

ITS solutions to improve driving safety based on the application of innovative technologies, also<br />

satellite.<br />
