National Conference on the results of the survey on the “Italian ITS Market: State of the Art and Future Prospects - Rome, May 2005 On 5 May 2005 TTS Italia organized in Rome a public Conference for presenting the results of the survey on the Italian ITS Market carried out by the Association itself in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. A round table about ITS as a possible tool for the Italian competitiveness followed the meeting. Representatives of industry, Local Administrations, highway operators and universities participated in the discussion. 12th World Congress on ITS – San Francisco, November 2005 TTS Italia took part in the 12 th World Congress on ITS held in San Francisco from the 5 th to 10 th November 2005 with a guest position at the STMicroelectronics stand, founding member of the Association. The World Congress saw the participation of more than 4,000 delegates from every part of the world. Stands from more than twenty countries were present at the Exhibition, representing the three regions in which ITS are strongly developing, namely, Europe, North America and Asia-Oceania. For the occasion of the Congress, the TTS Italia Secretary implemented the 2005 edition of the English language brochure “Italian Solutions for ITS”. The brochure presents a view of the principal Intelligent Transport systems and services offered by the TTS Italia Associates in areas relevant to the world of transport, such as urban and extraurban mobility management and control, goods fleet management, local public transport and railway transport management, intermodality, heavy goods vehicle and car safety systems. “Infomobility Telematics Forum 2005” Convention – Turin, November 2005 TTS Italia participated in the 2005 edition of the Infomobility Telematics Forum with a stand. Soc. Akhela, ordinary member of TTS Italia was also present at the stand with their own demos. In the course of the event, the Association Secretariat gave two presentations on the ITS market. In the seminar “Telematic Trends” , coordinated by ACI, the prospective supply in the ITS market was discussed. The second presentation regarded the state of ITS market demand for urban transport, local public transport, extraurban transport and goods transport. “Information and Models for Infomobility and Urban Logistics” Workshop – Rome, December 2005 TTS Italia was involved in the “Information and Models for Infomobility and Urban Logistics” Workshop organised by the Faculty of Statistics of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” on the 12 th December 2005 to participate in the Round Table: “Safety and Environmental Planning and Management in the Metropolitan Area” Institutions, companies from the sector and Public Administrations such as the Fire Brigade, 118, ATAC and Siemens took part in the Round Table. “Geoway 2006”– Moscow, March 2006 In collaboration with the Italian Ministry for Industry and the Institute of Foreign Business of Moscow, TTS Italia was in Moscow from March 14 to 17 to promote the “Made in Italy” of the ITS sector. This activity was undertaken in the presence of the principal Italian companies in the ITS sector. Beyond participating in the Geoway2006 event with a stand, TTS Italia organised the workshop: “Intelligent technologies and systems made in Italy for the improvement of transport” The TTS Italia partners which took part in this initiative were: Autostrade perItalia, ATAC, Consorzio Train, CSST, Iveco, Mizar, Telespazio, Thetis, T&Tand TSF. "Infomobility and Flexible Transport Services: towards e-governance and sustainability in European cities" - Florence, May 2006 TTS Italia participated to the workshop on “Infomobility and Flexible Transport Services: towards e- governance and sustainability in European cities”, held in Florence 25-26 th May 2006 and organised by ATAF, the Public Transport Company of Florence. The two days workshop discussed various aspects of mobility governance in urban and metropolitan areas, the role played by ICT and ITS and the organisational and operative problems to be solved. In the session “Institutional and Cooperation aspects”, the Association Secretariat made a presentation on the most relevant “Italian Initiatives on Intelligent Transport System”. “Intelligent vehicle” – Parma, May 2006 TTS Italia took part in the Workshop on the "Intelligent vehicle", held in Parma on 30 th May 2006 with the support of the University of Parma. The event presented and discussed the last development in Italy in the field of technologies and applications for the “Intelligent Vehicle”, considered as a mix of intelligent and integrated systems of security, navigation, control, management and comfort of travel, and based on new information and communication technologies. In the course of the workshop, the Association Secretariat made a presentation on “Intelligent transport and intelligent vehicle systems: a symbolic duo”. “Mobility Show Congress & Exhibition”– Carrara, September 2006 TTS Italia participated to the First Show Conference on Innovative Technologies for Urban Transport held in Carrara (Tuscany) on 21÷23 September 2006. In the course of the seminar “Systems and Technologies for an Integrated Management of Urban Mobility”, the Association Secretariat made a presentation on the most innovative ITS solutions for urban mobility management and control currently deployed in Italy.
