The current research interests and activities in <strong>the</strong> Department are in <strong>the</strong>
field <strong>of</strong>:
The Physics and Technology <strong>of</strong> Materials; quantum physics; fuel cells;
Ceramics; Medical Physics; Solar Energy; Astronomy;
Optoelectronics; Environmental Physics. Digital Signal Processing,
Data Communication, VLSI Semicustom Design, Electronics.
Research Possibilities
The proximity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Engineering, as well as <strong>the</strong> Seismic
Research Unit, which are situated on <strong>the</strong> St. Augustine Campus,
provide excellent opportunities for rewarding research in areas <strong>of</strong>
Physics. Collaboration with <strong>the</strong> sister campuses at Cave Hill
(Barbados) and Mona (Jamaica) are encouraged.
