3 A. I did.
4 Q. When did you explain that distinction to
5 him?
6 A. I don't remember the exact point in time,
7 but at the point in time that I explained to him the
8 deals, he was confused about whether these settlement
9 deals were structured settlements. And I remember him
10 repeatedly asking me about structured settlements.
11 And I was trying to explain to him the difference
12 between structured settlements and these settlement
13 deals, which were completely different than what you
14 are referring to as bridge loan deals.
15 Q. All right. Would it be fair to state that
16 he understood most of these transactions to be
17 structured settlement deals?
18 A. You know, as I sit here today, Mr. Salim, I
19 can't help you with that one way or the other. I
20 don't know what he specifically understood other than
21 some were bridge loan type deals and some were
22 settlement deals, which he kept referring to as
23 structured settlement deals.
24 Q. All right. Now, in terms of either form of
25 deal, you would prepare a promissory note, correct?
