3 Q. All right. David spent a lot of time today
4 talking about the difference between bridge loans and
5 settlement investments. And the first deal that you
6 did with Mr. Tonacchio was the Ron Picou deal and he
7 showed you a couple of exhibits on that, which I can
8 show you again.
9 Other than that deal, how would we know
10 whether any particular investment was a "bridge loan"
11 or a "settlement based" deal?
12 A. Other than reading the e-mails and either of
13 our recollections, there's no way to tell.
14 Q. All right. Did you ever tell Mr. Tonacchio
15 that he was involved in a "bridge loan deal"?
16 A. I don't think I used the word -- I might
17 have used the word "bridge loan," but I don't have a
18 specific recollection, Mr. Salim, one way or the
19 other. I discussed loans to clients, loans to
20 individuals, using the word "loan," but I didn't
21 necessarily use the word "bridge loan," although I may
22 have.
