This is achieved by avoiding removal of significant vegetation and by ensuring appropriate separation distances to surface water. Performance criteria P1 Buildings, sheds, other structures, and waste disposal areas must be sited, constructed and managed so that operation of the meat chicken farm does not cause unlawful environmental harm. P2 The development of the meat chicken farm does not cause the loss of biodiversity at state, regional or levels or interfere with ecological processes. P3 Meat chicken farms do not cause the loss or degradation of surface waters, marine parks or declared fish habitats. Acceptable outcomes A1 Buildings (excluding residential or administrative buildings), sheds, other structures and waste disposal areas must be set back from surface water, and declared fish habitat areas in accordance with the distances set out in Appendix 1. A2 Any vegetation clearing associated with the development of the meat chicken farm complies with the Vegetation Management Act 1999, the Vegetation Management Regulation 2000, the State Policy for Vegetation Management – version 2, SPP 2/10 Koala Conservation in South East Queensland, and the Regional Vegetation Management Code for South East Queensland Bioregion – version 2 and vegetation clearing requirements contained within the relevant local government planning scheme.
