Sites available for commercial development<br />

The GSRMAP identifies 26 new sites <strong>in</strong> 9 <strong>aquaculture</strong> prec<strong>in</strong>cts that may be developed for non-<strong>in</strong>tensive<br />

<strong>aquaculture</strong> (see Figure 1 on <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g page).<br />

Site <strong>in</strong>formation is provided for each follow<strong>in</strong>g prec<strong>in</strong>ct; however, complete site-specific <strong>in</strong>formation can be<br />

found <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> GSRMAP and <strong>the</strong> characterisation studies for <strong>the</strong> GSRMAP. Sampl<strong>in</strong>g was conducted <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> months<br />

<strong>of</strong> June and August 2007. Seasonal variation <strong>in</strong> algae cover, current speed and direction, and water turbidity<br />

is likely.<br />
