Conclusion
This manual, while extensive, does not contain all the information a prudent sailor needs to
know. Rather it should be used as a basis from which to build your knowledge. For each topic
covered in this manual there are books and articles available which discuss in much greater
detail and depth each individual subject. We hope, and expect, that you will continue your
education by doing further reading and taking advantage of some of the many excellent
courses, seminars and opportunities to learn from more experience persons in this area. Only
then will you be on your way to becoming a true "Corinthian yachtsman". Remember, as in any
endeavor, there is always more to be learned. Sailing is a sport that can be enjoyed for a
lifetime. To quote a famous sailor,
"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing, absolutely nothing -- half so much worth
doing as simply messing about in boats."
