STORYTELLING<br />

Storytelling is an important part of many<br />

cultures and is enjoyed and cherished by<br />

young and old alike. For Kids’ APT <strong>Summer</strong><br />

<strong>Spectacular</strong>, <strong>APT5</strong> artists were asked to<br />

nominate their favourite childhood story<br />

to be retold to children visiting the Gallery.<br />

Come along and listen to wonderful stories<br />

including ‘The City of Ghor’, a story that<br />

Jitish Kallat knew as a child. 13–28 January<br />

SUMMER SPECTACULAR<br />

— QUEENSLAND<br />

As part of the Kids’ APT <strong>Summer</strong><br />

<strong>Spectacular</strong>, a one-day event will be<br />

staged on Saturday 13 January 2007, in<br />

which children in regional Queensland<br />

centres participate simultaneously<br />

in activities drawn from the Kids’ APT<br />

program.<br />

PARENTS’/CARERS’ GUIDE<br />

Please ensure that children are<br />

accompanied by an adult at all times.<br />

Parent/carer discretion is encouraged<br />

regarding the age suitability of each<br />

activity.<br />

Please refrain from taking food and drinks<br />

inside the Gallery. Also, please help us to<br />

protect the art works by not touching.<br />

FIRST AID First Aid officers will be in the<br />

First Aid Room located near the bathrooms<br />

on the Watermall level in QAG and in the<br />

First Aid Room opposite the information<br />

desk, left of the escalators, in GoMA.<br />

PARENTS’ ROOM There are Parents’<br />

Rooms located adjacent to the Stanley<br />

Place entrance and next to the bathrooms<br />

on the Watermall level in QAG and<br />

adjacent to the Cinémathèque Box Office<br />

near the main entry in GoMA (see map).<br />

LOST CHILDREN In the instance of a lost<br />

child, please contact a staff member.<br />

TOILETS All bathrooms are located inside<br />

both QAG and GoMA (see map).<br />

INFORMATION There will be an<br />

information point at the main entrance of<br />

CLOAK ROOM Belongings can be left in<br />

the Cloak Rooms adjacent to the main<br />

entrances in both buildings.<br />

LOST PROPERTY Lost belongings will be<br />

handed in to the nearest Cloak Room.<br />

DISABLED ACCESS Please use lifts and<br />

ramps provided.<br />

EMERGENCY EXIT POINTS In the case<br />

of an emergency evacuation, all guests<br />

inside the Gallery will be asked to leave via<br />

the regular emergency exits. Please follow<br />

the direction of security personnel.
