SPECIAL FEATURES KIDS’ APT QUIZ SHOW ‘Come on doooown!’ to the Kids’ APT Quiz Show! With the best bits of every game show you’ve seen on TV rolled into one, the Quiz Show will challenge young contestants and fire up audiences. JAPAN FANTASTIC: BEFORE AND BEYOND ANIME The Australian Cinémathèque will screen daily programs of fabulous Japanese animation for kids throughout the festival. The films presented have had only limited screenings outside Japan, and include claymation, puppet animation and linedrawn animation. 13–28 January 2007 / 11.30am and 2.00pm daily Cinema A, GoMA KIN BY STEPHEN PAGE Devised and directed by Stephen Page Composer: David Page / Set Designer: Peter England Lighting Designer: Glenn Hughes / Cast: Isileli Jarden, Ryan Jarden, Josiah Page, Samson Page, Sean Page, Hunter Page- Lochard, Curtis Walsh-Jarden A recorded performance of Kin will also screen as part of the APT5 exhibition in the Cinema Lounge, GoMA Specially comissioned for APT5, Stephen Page’s live theatre production Kin brings together three generations of Page men in a story of family, community and history. Told through the eyes of seven young Aboriginal boys, Kin explores the boys’ urban upbringing — influenced by popular culture and a love of hip-hop and football. Aged between 9 and 13, the boys are starting to form their own beliefs about the world and their place in it as young Aboriginal men. 13 and 14 January 2007 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm Cinema B, GoMA / Free event, limited availability. Adults must be accompanied by a child. Suitable for children aged eight and over. Entry passes will be available for all sessions from 9.00am on the day, on a ‘first in, first served’ basis. APT5 artist Djambawa Marawili would like to share a story with you called ‘Djet’. This is not going to be easy . . . In order to find out the full story you will need to catch two different coloured fish. Once you have both fish you will understand why. 13–28 January 2007 / 10.30am – 2.30pm Lawn, GoMA ONE FROM MANY: PACIFIC QUILT PROJECT Add your own piece to create a giant quilt designed by APT5 artist Tungane Broadbent. Every child can draw their own ‘place’ (house or special spot) on coloured paper to be joined with thousands of other children’s drawings to make an amazing Pacific quilt pattern. 15–22 January 2007 / 10.30am – 2.30pm River Room, GoMA
