teaching and curriculum has been nationally recognised. We were the first school in Leeds
and one of the first in the country to become a Specialist Science College and have a national
reputation for excellence in Science education. The school has also been awarded the
Government’s Silver Arts and Sportsmarks and the Government’s International Schools Award.
Horsforth School has a strict Code of Conduct for behaviour and a Positive Behaviour System,
so that students know exactly what is expected of them. The school sets high standards and

All teaching staff who are appointed to positions within the school are given laptops and
undergo a thorough induction process, New colleagues who are NQT’s are given full support,
a personal mentor and regular opportunities to discuss their work. All colleagues are
encouraged to continue their professional development.
In addition, colleagues have full access to the school gym and fitness suite for their personal use
after school and are actively encouraged to participate and use the facilities available.
