ACCOMPLISHMENTS:<br />

1 st and 2nd Quarter Reports: 1) A contract with private child-placing agencies <strong>for</strong> the recruitment, and development <strong>of</strong> foster and<br />

adoptive homes ended on June 30, 2002. Approximately 109 foster homes were developed under this contract. 2) Funding allocated<br />

($500,000 in Oct. 2002) <strong>for</strong> DFCS county agencies to contract with private entities <strong>for</strong> the preparation and development <strong>of</strong> foster<br />

homes. Method <strong>for</strong> measuring achievement: 1. Comparison <strong>of</strong> number <strong>of</strong> homes developed during contract periods with the number<br />

approved during two previous years. Total foster homes developed SFY 00 =807; total foster homes developed SFY01 =982; (data not<br />

available <strong>for</strong> 2002). Actions to be taken next quarter: Compare number <strong>of</strong> homes developed over past three quarters.<br />

1 st Quarter Federal Response: MOVE UNDERLINED TO NEXT QUARTER.<br />

2 nd Quarter Federal Response: THIS WAS DUE OCTOBER 2002. HAS IT BEEN ACHIEVED YET? What can the State give us to<br />

show this has been achieved?<br />

3 rd Quarter Report/Reply: Achieved. An additional $800,000.00 was allocated <strong>for</strong> Foster Care Recruitment during the 2003<br />

legislative session.<br />
