ACCOMPLISHMENTS:<br />

5 th Quarter Report: Achieved. In cooperation with providers, DFCS has been working diligently to create a Level <strong>of</strong> Care (LOC)<br />

system that purchases placement services <strong>for</strong> a child based on the child's needs. Six different Levels <strong>of</strong> Care have been developed <strong>for</strong><br />

assisting DHR/DFCS staff, <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Juvenile justice (DJJ) staff, and private Foster/Child Care provider staff in making<br />

appropriate placement and treatment planning decisions <strong>for</strong> each child in care. The LOC is expected to be implemented statewide by<br />

March 2004.<br />
