ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Caseworker documentation indicates increase in
parent/child and sibling visitations.
1 st Quarter Report: Partially Achieved. The Foster Care Unit is currently conducting First Placement Best Placement training for all
placement and child Protective services staff, along with private providers. The importance of and requirements for parent and child
visitation is being emphasized at each of these sessions. Funding options, suggestions for locations of visits, where visitation centers
are non-existent, frequency of visits, and documentation requirements are among the topics covered in the training. It is expected that
all staff and interested private providers will be trained by the end of January 2003.
2 nd Quarter Report: Achieved. The Foster Care Unit completed First Placement Best Placement training for all placement and Child
Protective Services staff, along with private providers. The importance of parent and child visitation was emphasized at each of these
sessions. Funding options, suggestions for locations of visits, where visitation centers are non-existent, frequency of visits, and
