BENCHMARKS<br />

This benchmark was achieved. The training policy <strong>of</strong> institutional staff was reviewed. A report was made to the team on the<br />

requirements for all staff by regulation. The report also compared the training <strong>of</strong> institutional staff with the agency's training <strong>of</strong> foster<br />

parents. Completion date: May 2002, this item was completed prior to PIP approval.<br />

8 th Quarter Report: Achieved. Per ACF 7 th quarter request: Child Caring Institutions are licensed by ORS <strong>an</strong>d required to follow the<br />

Rules <strong>an</strong>d Regulations for Child Caring Institutions. The Rules <strong>an</strong>d Regulations require new staff in institutional settings to undergo<br />

orientation training <strong>an</strong>d to complete 24 hours <strong>of</strong> ongoing training per year. Recommendations for staff training support a coordinated<br />

training effort involving both the public <strong>an</strong>d private sector. Maximization <strong>of</strong> IV-E funding for training <strong>of</strong> the private sector was also<br />

recommended as well as the certification <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional staff. The attached documentation 2 - A7 <strong>an</strong>d A8 a <strong>an</strong>d b contain <strong>an</strong> excerpt<br />
