The State has compiled a list <strong>of</strong> providers by geographical service area approved to complete the FPBP comprehensive child <strong>an</strong>d<br />

family assessment. This list is available on the DHR web site by following the link to the Division <strong>of</strong> Family <strong>an</strong>d Children Services.<br />

The State has implemented the Level <strong>of</strong> Care (LOC) system <strong>an</strong>d has stated the intention to determine service gaps <strong>an</strong>d geographical<br />

needs as that system moves forward. The State has compiled a list <strong>of</strong> LOC providers both by service area <strong>an</strong>d level <strong>of</strong> service<br />

provision. This list is updated every other month. The pl<strong>an</strong> is for this document to be posted on the DHR website.<br />

The Office <strong>of</strong> MH/AD is conducting a gap <strong>an</strong>alysis for adult <strong>an</strong>d child <strong>an</strong>d adolescent mental health services. A vendor, APS<br />

Healthcare, has been selected <strong>an</strong>d has recently initiated the information gathering process. Local <strong>an</strong>d state DFCS have been invited to<br />

forward survey information. The resulting information will be used to demonstrate service needs for individuals, compare that<br />

information with the service system capacity <strong>an</strong>d usage, <strong>an</strong>d ultimately determine the level <strong>of</strong> unmet needs. It is expected that there<br />

will be a preliminary report <strong>of</strong> findings available no later th<strong>an</strong> 12/30/04.<br />

The work remaining for this action step is the consolidation <strong>of</strong> the various provider resource listings. Development strategies <strong>an</strong>d<br />

budget priorities will be designed once the master resource list is compiled.<br />

8 th Quarter DOCUMENTATION: Service Deliverables for APS Healthcare<br />

BARRIERS TO ACHIEVEMENT:<br />

All existing resources have not been accounted for. Efforts need to continue around data collection before a determination is made<br />

about service gaps. The database has not been developed. Thus studies on gaps in available resources have not been determined.<br />

O10 ACTION STEPS:<br />

Strengthen <strong>an</strong>d make m<strong>an</strong>datory the Case Pl<strong>an</strong> Reporting System to ensure that information about the child's<br />

mental health is documented to eliminate breaks in mental health services. Provide additional support <strong>an</strong>d<br />

training so case m<strong>an</strong>agers c<strong>an</strong> use the system effectively. (1) A tool to assess quality <strong>of</strong> the CPRS case pl<strong>an</strong>s<br />

needs to be developed. (2) Monthly comparisons <strong>of</strong> IDS entries with CPRS case pl<strong>an</strong>s initiated will be<br />

conducted. The information gathered in 1 <strong>an</strong>d 2 will be used to determine the need for technical assist<strong>an</strong>ce to<br />

specific counties.<br />

5 th Quarter: The State requests to delete (1) <strong>an</strong>d (2) above. Reason: The State currently does not have the<br />

m<strong>an</strong>power resources to develop a tool to assess the quality <strong>of</strong> CPRS case pl<strong>an</strong>s <strong>an</strong>d/or make monthly<br />

comparisons <strong>of</strong> the two databases. However, the State has supported continued CPRS training efforts. The State<br />

believes these deletions will not adversely impact the goals. Additionally, the QCRs <strong>an</strong>d the Supervisory<br />
