ACCOMPLISHMENTS:<br />

1 st Quarter Report: The database has not been developed. Thus, studies on gaps in available resources have not been determined.<br />

The internet <strong>an</strong>d hard copy resources currently in use may be adequate to initiate a gap <strong>an</strong>alysis. A comprehensive list <strong>of</strong> county-bycounty<br />

resources needs to be compiled <strong>an</strong>d distributed.<br />

Actions for next quarter: 1. A listing <strong>of</strong> resources both in hard copy <strong>an</strong>d via the internet will be started. 2. A visual representation <strong>of</strong><br />

available resources will be developed along with a paper <strong>an</strong>alysis to determine service gaps <strong>an</strong>d geographical areas in need <strong>of</strong> service.<br />

2 nd Quarter Report: The following resources are social services resources are on-line: Referral Central hosted by the Georgia<br />

Association for Homes <strong>an</strong>d Services for Children (www.referralcentral.net )<br />

This resource is a statewide database <strong>of</strong> First Placement Best Placement providers, Shelters, Family Preservation providers, counseling<br />

services, psychiatric hospitals, foster <strong>an</strong>d group homes <strong>an</strong>d other services. The complete Promoting Safe <strong>an</strong>d Stable Families guide is<br />

available for on-line viewing at www.caresolutions.com.<br />

PSSF's service area covers the entire state with prevention, intervention, preservation, reunification <strong>an</strong>d adoption services.<br />

Additionally, the Division <strong>of</strong> Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities <strong>an</strong>d Addictive Diseases has a comprehensive listing <strong>of</strong> its<br />

community service boards, private providers <strong>an</strong>d health departments. Since, there is not a singular database, the information from all<br />

sources needs to be merged with existing paper database information to determine service gaps<br />

<strong>an</strong>d geographical areas in need <strong>of</strong> service.<br />

3rd Quarter Federal Response: 3 rd Quarter Report: ???<br />

5 th Quarter Report: This new work team has not had <strong>an</strong> opportunity to meet. However, the State expects to meet its completion date.<br />

6 th Quarter Report: The <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Hum<strong>an</strong> Resources (DHR) <strong>an</strong>d the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Juvenile Justice (DJJ) worked with Georgia’s<br />

providers <strong>of</strong> residential care to implement a Level <strong>of</strong> Care (LOC) system March 2004 that purchases placement services based upon a child’s<br />

needs. There are six levels <strong>of</strong> care that cover the entire continuum <strong>of</strong> out-<strong>of</strong>-home care provided by the private sector, from basic Institutional<br />

Foster Care through Intensive Residential Treatment. The LOC system also approves levels <strong>of</strong> service delivery for providers that match the<br />

six specific levels <strong>of</strong> need. Requests for placement assist<strong>an</strong>ce have already shown the need for additional emergency or assessment level<br />
