8 th Quarter Report: Achieved. The First Placement/Best Placement Provider Review Process is the best me<strong>an</strong>s available to the state<br />

to determine the effectiveness <strong>of</strong> training for the provider. The provider assessment process has three phases. Phase I is training<br />

which is <strong>of</strong>fered on <strong>an</strong> ongoing basis to persons who are interested in becoming approved providers for First Placement/Best<br />

Placement Assessments <strong>an</strong>d Wrap-Around services.<br />

Phase I<br />

Back To Basics - This one-day presentation includes <strong>an</strong> introduction to <strong>an</strong>d review <strong>of</strong> the Comprehensive Child <strong>an</strong>d Family<br />

Assessment St<strong>an</strong>dards <strong>an</strong>d Wrap-Around requirements. It also includes <strong>an</strong> <strong>overview</strong> <strong>of</strong> the partnership <strong>an</strong>d collaboration that must<br />

exists between a private provider <strong>an</strong>d the county DFCS <strong>of</strong>fice. Information on how to access funds appropriately is included as well as<br />

information on provider enrollment requirements is discussed.<br />

Adv<strong>an</strong>ced Skills Training - This one-day presentation reviews the Comprehensive Child <strong>an</strong>d Family Assessment st<strong>an</strong>dards, tools <strong>an</strong>d<br />

goals with a clinical emphasis. Model Assessments are provided. This session covers the Inf<strong>an</strong>t <strong>an</strong>d Toddler Developmental<br />

Assessment, Psychological Assessment, Adolescent <strong>an</strong>d Young Adult Assessment, <strong>an</strong>d Family Assessment.<br />

Phase II – Provisional Provider Approval is gr<strong>an</strong>ted to a provider if the enrollment application meets the minimum st<strong>an</strong>dards. The<br />

provider is assigned to a county department to complete two (2) comprehensive child <strong>an</strong>d family assessments.<br />

Phase III – Assessment Review – The provider review committee is comprised <strong>of</strong> state <strong>of</strong>fice staff, a licensed psychologist, <strong>an</strong>d a<br />

community partner. The team reviews the assessments completed by the provider during Phase II. If the assessments meet clinical<br />

<strong>an</strong>d policy st<strong>an</strong>dards, the provider receives Full Approval Status. If the clinical st<strong>an</strong>dards are not met, then additional assessment may<br />

be required or the provider is not approved.<br />

Re-enrollment – Approval status is gr<strong>an</strong>ted for a period <strong>of</strong> two (2) years. Three months before the approval expires, the provider<br />

must submit two (2) comprehensive assessments, along with a reenrollment application for review by the Provider Review<br />

Committee.<br />

A contracted licensed clinical psychologist reviews assessments that are submitted by the providers for training effectiveness. The<br />

Adv<strong>an</strong>ced Skills Training for the providers is modified, as needed based on reviews <strong>of</strong> the assessments.<br />
