4. In addition to the information being gathered from the LOC system regarding both service gaps <strong>an</strong>d geographical needs, efforts are<br />

underway in several other arenas to concentrate on the identification <strong>of</strong> service gaps. The Office <strong>of</strong> the Child Advocate has completed a study<br />

on counties “most in need”. MHDDAD has completed a services mapping project regarding services for children/adolescents <strong>an</strong>d families.<br />

A vendor is being selected to complete a services gap <strong>an</strong>alysis from this information. DFCS is collecting data on the use <strong>of</strong> wraparound <strong>an</strong>d<br />

family preservation services. CPRS has been m<strong>an</strong>dated; training is complete.<br />

1. Required field <strong>of</strong> “date <strong>of</strong> last psychological assessment” has been added to the CPRS.<br />

2. Level <strong>of</strong> Care (LOC) system has been implemented.<br />

Overall summary <strong>of</strong> accomplishments for Item 23:<br />

1. CPRS is in place with multiple enh<strong>an</strong>cements to assist in ensuring that mental health services are tracked.<br />

2. Additional tracking <strong>of</strong> the quality <strong>of</strong> mental health services is provided through the QCR process.<br />

3. Case m<strong>an</strong>agers <strong>an</strong>d supervisors PMP include responsibilities regarding mental health services to children <strong>an</strong>d families.<br />

4. LOC system implemented across the state.<br />

Items 35 – 37 State has in place <strong>an</strong> array <strong>of</strong> services that assess the strengths <strong>an</strong>d needs <strong>of</strong> children <strong>an</strong>d families <strong>an</strong>d determine other service needs, address the needs <strong>of</strong><br />

families in addition to individual children in order to create a safe environment, enable children to remain safely with their parents when reasonable, <strong>an</strong>d help children<br />

in foster <strong>an</strong>d adoptive placements achieve perm<strong>an</strong>ency.<br />

In order to effect such <strong>an</strong> array <strong>an</strong>d to improve the collaboration with providers, stakeholders <strong>an</strong>d consumers, we took the following actions:<br />

The Division conducted a web-based survey to explore a preliminary assessment <strong>of</strong> existing state <strong>an</strong>d federally supported services<br />

provided by or outsourced through the following <strong>Department</strong>al Agencies <strong>an</strong>d Divisions (DHR):<br />

• DHR Division <strong>of</strong> Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities <strong>an</strong>d Addictive Diseases (MHDDAD) - State funded services<br />

are delivered through eight regional hospitals, 26 community service agencies <strong>an</strong>d a network <strong>of</strong> private providers.<br />

• DHR-DFCS Domestic Violence Program - Domestic Violence shelters funded by the state include 41 certified family<br />

violence <strong>program</strong>s, operated by private, non-pr<strong>of</strong>it org<strong>an</strong>izations. They provide 24-hour crisis lines, legal <strong>an</strong>d social service<br />
