meeting the hearing time frames, requiring a diligent search for relatives early in the process, and making certain all parties had proper
representation. Included as part of the 8 th report documentation is the presentation "Planning for Permanency Trough Effective Case
Plans", which was used to address the ASFA/PIP compliances. The agenda item for the 2003 Spring Council of Juvenile Court Judges
Seminar, is labeled "Conflicts and Continuances", which addressed ASFA/PIP. While the panel specifically discussed how to lower
the number of continuances and attorney conflicts in order to better meet the ASFA time frames, several judges discussed PIP
improvement items, including good practice around case planning and permanency hearings. Judge Peggy Walker, 2003 Council
President, reported to the CIP that she attended several PIP meetings and reported back to the Council during their business meeting.
