representation. Included as part <strong>of</strong> the 8 th report documentation is the presentation "Pl<strong>an</strong>ning for Perm<strong>an</strong>ency Trough Effective Case<br />

Pl<strong>an</strong>s", which was used to address the ASFA/PIP compli<strong>an</strong>ces. The agenda item for the 2003 Spring Council <strong>of</strong> Juvenile Court Judges<br />

Seminar, is labeled "Conflicts <strong>an</strong>d Continu<strong>an</strong>ces", which addressed ASFA/PIP. While the p<strong>an</strong>el specifically discussed how to lower<br />

the number <strong>of</strong> continu<strong>an</strong>ces <strong>an</strong>d attorney conflicts in order to better meet the ASFA time frames, several judges discussed PIP<br />

<strong>improvement</strong> items, including good practice around case pl<strong>an</strong>ning <strong>an</strong>d perm<strong>an</strong>ency hearings. Judge Peggy Walker, 2003 Council<br />

President, reported to the CIP that she attended several PIP meetings <strong>an</strong>d reported back to the Council during their business meeting.<br />
