Goal: Families will have enh<strong>an</strong>ced capacity to provide for their children's needs<br />

J1 ACTION STEPS:<br />

Training curriculum for caseworkers will include provision to specifically address child <strong>an</strong>d family<br />

involvement in case pl<strong>an</strong>ning. Special attention will be paid to involving fathers <strong>an</strong>d older children.<br />

The committee <strong>an</strong>d selected contractors will revise, field test <strong>an</strong>d implement the Social Services New Worker<br />

curriculum. The revised curriculum will place additional emphasis on family centered practice. Completion<br />

Date: In November 2002 competencies were identified for New Worker Training. The Advisory Committee<br />

reviewed the first draft <strong>of</strong> the revised curriculum based on CWLA competencies. Georgia is on schedule to<br />

have the new curriculum completed by October 2003.<br />

practicing the involvement <strong>of</strong> families in case pl<strong>an</strong>ning.<br />
