5 th Quarter Report: The Office <strong>of</strong> Adoptions has a contract with the Georgia Center for Adoption Resources <strong>an</strong>d Support. This<br />
contract requires the Regional Advisors to distribute brochures on the Center's services to every County DFCS <strong>of</strong>fice. This<br />
information includes a post adoption services listing <strong>an</strong>d <strong>an</strong> adoption assist<strong>an</strong>ce h<strong>an</strong>dbook. In addition, the advisors ask to attend the<br />
9 th session <strong>of</strong> MAPP so they may discuss the resources available to families. Each prospective foster <strong>an</strong>d adoptive parent is given a<br />
Resource <strong>an</strong>d Adoption Assist<strong>an</strong>ce Directory at MAPP, when the Form 150 is signed or when the Placement Agreement is signed. The<br />
county, by policy, is to have the family sign a Form 399 identifying they have received this material <strong>an</strong>d forward the form to the<br />
Office <strong>of</strong> Adoptions. To date we have received 324 forms. Enforcement <strong>of</strong> this policy continues to be a training issue that will be<br />
emphasized by the Regional Adoption Coordinators with the County DFCS <strong>of</strong>fices.<br />
8 th Quarter Report: Achieved. The state has recently (7/2004) developed <strong>an</strong>d implemented a new curriculum (IMPACT: Initial<br />
Interest, Mutual Selection, Pre service Training, Assessment, Continuing Development, Teamwork) to provide orientation <strong>an</strong>d<br />
training to all potential foster <strong>an</strong>d adoptive parents. This curriculum includes a scripted presentation both in Orientation <strong>an</strong>d Training<br />
regarding Adoption Assist<strong>an</strong>ce <strong>an</strong>d post adoption services. The state has trained all staff persons who provides orientation <strong>an</strong>d<br />
training on this curriculum. The training is ongoing. We are attaching the scripted modules <strong>an</strong>d a resource packet provided to all<br />
particip<strong>an</strong>ts during IMPACT training. Resource families sign a form stating they have been given the resource packet.<br />
The Office <strong>of</strong> Adoptions has a contract with the Georgia Center for Resource <strong>an</strong>d Support: Serving Adoptive <strong>an</strong>d Foster Families to<br />
provide support services. According to the recent SFY 2004 contract <strong>an</strong>nual report from the Center, they disseminated the following<br />
information:<br />
• Attended 48 MAPP training groups to distribute Adoption Assist<strong>an</strong>ce H<strong>an</strong>dbooks <strong>an</strong>d Resource Packets<br />
• Distributed 5,413 Resource packets<br />
• Distributed 10,313 brochures to County DFCS Offices regarding Services <strong>of</strong> the Resource Center. These brochures will also be<br />
distributed to potential resource parents.<br />
8 th Quarter DOCUMENTATION:<br />
(1) IMPACT scripted module on Adoption Assist<strong>an</strong>ce <strong>an</strong>d adoption services<br />
(2) Resource Packet for DHR Resource families. The Packet includes a 16 page easy-to-read h<strong>an</strong>dbook "Adoption Assist<strong>an</strong>ce in<br />
Georgia".<br />
