Area Library Friends, an
active nonprofit group
organized in 1981. Six years
have passed since their most
recent radiothon.
Friends of the Roseau
Area Library depend on
membership dues, donations
and grants to enable them to
provide much needed support
for Roseau Public
Library. Now in the library's
75th anniversary year, the
volunteer group needs to
replenish its treasury in

supplementing the library's
always tight budget, funded
by the City of Roseau and
Roseau County. Expenses
have risen as library use has
increased through the years.
During more than 35,000
visits in 2012, Roseau Public
Library users saved themselves
a lot of "pretty pennies"
by borrowing almost
30,000 books/materials and
using our nine free public
access computers about
6,400 times in addition to
accessing the Internet
through library wireless connection
