The Children’s Day was celebrated in CGKG school at Visakhapatnam. Christmas Day was<br />

celebrated by organizing sports for children. The major activities conducted for children of playschool<br />

at Tuticorin included a picnic <strong>to</strong> Roche Park, visit <strong>to</strong> Harbour nursery, Sapling plantations, a visit <strong>to</strong><br />

church <strong>and</strong> Medical check-up.<br />

CGWWA (ANDAMAN & NICOBAR)<br />

The CGKG Schools at Port Blair <strong>and</strong> CGPS at Campbell Bay have been managed in a<br />

professional manner. All school oriented activities like recitation, s<strong>to</strong>rytelling, drawing <strong>and</strong> other<br />

competitions were conducted. Other cultural <strong>and</strong> school events including Teachers’ Day, Gr<strong>and</strong>parents’<br />

Day, etc. were also conducted. The de-worming week was observed for school children with the help<br />

of GB Pant Hospital <strong>and</strong> CG MI Room at Port Blair. Also, as part of the preparedness for response <strong>to</strong><br />

the natural disaster, Tsunami Drill was conducted by the CGPS Campbell Bay. The school picnic for<br />

the students was also organised. The school at Campbell Bay has been extended up <strong>to</strong> Class VIII in<br />

the current year.<br />

CGWWA (NORTH EAST)<br />

Meri<strong>to</strong>rious students for the year 2011 were awarded with Medals <strong>and</strong> certificates at Kolkata.<br />

The Foundation S<strong>to</strong>ne for Kinder Garden was laid by Mrs Jaishree P<strong>and</strong>e, President Tatrashika (NE)<br />

at Azad Hind Nagar, Haldia.<br />

Jingle Bells School at Paradip has achieved new heights with its Nursery Section <strong>and</strong> Play<br />

Section having a <strong>to</strong>tal strength of 74 children <strong>and</strong> 03 teaching staff.<br />

CGWWA (NORTH WEST)<br />

An educational trip <strong>to</strong> Amul’s Mother Dairy was organised. The visit provided information on<br />

process of converting raw milk in<strong>to</strong> finished <strong>and</strong> processed by-products including packing <strong>and</strong><br />

preservation. Tatrakshika members visited Calico Museum at Ahmedabad, one of the foremost textile<br />

museums in the world <strong>and</strong> an important <strong>Indian</strong> institution.<br />

The CG Play school organised a programme <strong>to</strong> welcome Mrs Jayasree Muralidharan at Okha.<br />

Tiny <strong>to</strong>ts performed a dance on ‘VANDE MATRAM’, dressed up as freedom fighters. At Vadinar, a<br />

puppet show was organised by CGWWA member for children of all age groups. Talent Hunt was<br />

organised with the aim of promoting a healthy competitive spirit among children of CG personnel.<br />

Children showcased their talent in dancing, singing, acting, etc.<br />

Tatrakshika, Mundra organised the first ever inter-school drawing <strong>and</strong> painting competition for<br />

six schools.<br />
