CGWWA (WEST)<br />
A workshop on the <strong>to</strong>pic ‘Importance of Time Management’ was organised for children of class V-<br />
XII, which helped them <strong>to</strong> reduce the stress level. A debate competition on the <strong>to</strong>pics ‘How much<br />
freedom should be given <strong>to</strong> Children’ <strong>and</strong> ‘How Happy are we in <strong>to</strong>day’s life’ were organised as a part<br />
of Literacy Day celebrations. Spoken English classes are being conducted in the evening at the<br />
welfare centre.<br />
Lectures on ‘Stress Management’, ‘Time Management’, ‘Uses of ATM’, etc were conducted at<br />
New Mangalore. A visit <strong>to</strong> Silver Fac<strong>to</strong>ry was organised for ladies at Karwar <strong>and</strong> a lecture was<br />
conducted on ‘Effective Parenting’.<br />
An educational <strong>to</strong>ur for children was organised at <strong>Indian</strong> Council of Agricultural research, Old<br />
Goa <strong>and</strong> lectures on ‘Good Parenting’ <strong>and</strong> ‘Women Empowerment’ were also conducted. Ladies of<br />
Murud Janjira visited ‘Koteshwari Devi’ temple <strong>and</strong> ‘Nawab Palace’.<br />
The educational software of Azim Premji Foundation for Class I-VIII was introduced <strong>to</strong> the ladies<br />
of Daman. Lectures on ‘Time Management’, ‘Stress Management’ <strong>and</strong> ‘Etiquettes’ were delivered. A<br />
field trip <strong>to</strong> M/s Alok Industries Ltd, Silvassa was organised for ladies. A visit <strong>to</strong> Ganpatipule <strong>and</strong><br />
Marleshwar Temple was organised for CGWWA members at Ratnagiri.<br />
CGWWA (EAST)<br />
An interactive session on ‘Social Communication’ skills in English language, telephone etiquettes,<br />
formal letter writing, a talk on legal rights by Adv. Dr Mrs Geeta Madhavan covering <strong>to</strong>pics like<br />
importance of reading a document, signature, importance of writing will, etc, <strong>and</strong> a talk on financial<br />
literacy were undertaken <strong>to</strong> educate <strong>and</strong> empower the ladies. A presentation on CG benefits like<br />
CGBA <strong>and</strong> pay <strong>and</strong> perks was also organised at welfare centres.<br />
Inter-school quiz <strong>and</strong> painting competition were organised at Vishakhapatnam. The theme of<br />
Painting Competition was ‘<strong>Indian</strong> Armed Forces’. Fancy dress, painting competition, quiz <strong>and</strong><br />
educational visit was organised for CG children at Tuticorin.<br />
An inter-school quiz competition <strong>and</strong> drawing competition was conducted at M<strong>and</strong>apam during<br />
CG day celebrations. An educational <strong>to</strong>ur <strong>to</strong> Devils Point Light House was also organised for the<br />
ladies. The CGWWA members of Puducherry visited the solar kitchen at Aureoville.<br />
CGWWA (ANDAMAN & NICOBAR)<br />
Various classes like Computers, Vedic maths, Abacus, Subject tuitions from class I <strong>to</strong> X <strong>and</strong><br />
classes for communication skills for the ladies have started at the welfare centre. All these classes<br />
are being conducted by the professionals from ISO certified institutions. Quiz competitions at Port<br />
Blair was one of the major attractions for the children <strong>and</strong> being organised periodically.<br />
The meri<strong>to</strong>rious CG Children were awarded for their academic excellence for the Year 2011-12.<br />
20
