Basic computer classes are being organised at the family welfare centre. 15 -20 ladies are taking<br />

part in this class.<br />

The holy festival ‘Janamashtami’ followed by a traditional puja was celebrated at CGWWA centre<br />

at Vadinar. Tatrakshika organised Rangoli classes for children residing at Mundra. CGWWA members,<br />

Jakhau celebrated ‘Holi’ at CGRA Naliya, with their families.<br />

Independence Day was celebrated wherein game <strong>and</strong> activities like needle & thread race, musical<br />

chairs, antakshari <strong>and</strong> singing competitions were organised for ladies.<br />

SAKSHARTA (Literacy)<br />

Saksharta as signified by the name, lights the lamp of knowledge through literacy <strong>and</strong><br />

education among <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> fraternity. Children <strong>and</strong> ladies are educated in the real sense<br />

of the word <strong>and</strong> their overall development is ensured.<br />

CGWWA (HEADQUARTERS)<br />

On the occasion of Literacy Day, i.e. Saksharta Diwas, a poem recitation competition was<br />

organised for the ladies at CGWWA centre, Noida. A painting & elocution competition was held <strong>and</strong><br />

many children participated in the event.<br />

Meri<strong>to</strong>rious students in academics were awarded certificates <strong>and</strong> trophies. A basic computer<br />

course was organised at Kalyan Kendra under the guidance of Mr IK Sachedeva. Ladies were awarded<br />

certificates. Spoken English classes are being conducted successfully at the Kendra.<br />

A workshop for career guidance for children was arranged at National Defence Institute of<br />

Management (NDIM), New Delhi.<br />

NDIM developed special ‘Quality Skills’ Module for 3.5 hours for ladies <strong>and</strong> students of 9th <strong>to</strong><br />

12th st<strong>and</strong>ard of <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> fraternity covering following <strong>to</strong>pics :-<br />

Body Language/Etiquettes<br />

Positive Attitude<br />

Building Winning Relationships<br />

Leadership Skills<br />

Effective use of time <strong>and</strong> energy<br />

Communication Skills<br />

The module was offered free of cost <strong>to</strong> CGWWA, whereas the NDIM charge a fee of Rs. 500/-<br />

per module for others.<br />
