ANNUAL REPORT 2011 - 12<br />
INTRODUCTION<br />
Variety is the spice of life <strong>and</strong> the year 2011-12 was also filled with a variety of activities <strong>and</strong><br />
attractive programmes. Various workshops <strong>and</strong> courses arranged not only proved beneficial for our<br />
ladies but also endeavored <strong>to</strong> make them self-reliant, thereby ensuring the propagation of our mot<strong>to</strong><br />
‘Self Help’.<br />
SURUCHI (Welfare)<br />
Welfare is one of the primary concerns <strong>and</strong> several measures are taken <strong>to</strong> bring out the<br />
potential <strong>and</strong> hidden talents in the CGWWA members as well as develop the skills further,<br />
thus helping them <strong>to</strong> attain financial independence.<br />
CGWWA (HEADQUARTERS)<br />
Tatrakshika Day was celebrated at the welfare centre, Noida. President Tatrakshika, Mrs Jayasree<br />
Muralidharan was welcomed during Tatrakshika Milan. A demonstration on flower making was<br />
conducted during the occasion.<br />
An awareness programme on domestic violence was organised by NGO, ‘Maitree’ at CGWWA<br />
Welfare Centre, Noida. A picnic for Tatrakshika ladies was organised <strong>to</strong> Akshardham, Swami Narayan<br />
Temple, New Delhi. A heritage walk <strong>to</strong> India Park, Mehrauli managed by Archeological Survey of India<br />
was organised for the ladies.<br />
Talent show was put up by the wards of CG personnel <strong>to</strong> encourage their inborn talents. To<br />
inculcate the importance of sports in children, sports activities were arranged for different age groups<br />
of children <strong>and</strong> some sports activities were conducted for the ladies <strong>to</strong>o.<br />
Tailoring <strong>and</strong> embroidery classes are an ongoing programme <strong>and</strong> it is held in batches.<br />
Demonstration on various activities like pickle making, glass painting <strong>and</strong> nib painting were held on<br />
different occasions at the welfare centre. A short course for baking was held at Kalyan Kendra,<br />
Noida. Tatrakshika ladies got an opportunity <strong>to</strong> learn block printing in different fabrics at NWWA<br />
Centre, New Delhi. A three month course on self grooming was held at Kendra <strong>and</strong> many ladies<br />
benefitted with the self grooming programme. A dance class for children of CG personnel has also<br />
been started at welfare centre, Noida.<br />
A demonstration on the art of making ethnic Gujarati snacks was held at CGWWA welfare centre,<br />
Noida. The highlight of the event was the making of instant dhokla’s.<br />
Mrs Madhulika Verma, the erstwhile President, NWWA visited CGHQ <strong>and</strong> interacted with<br />
