There’s a mountain just outside Nice, France, where greatness is tested. The Col de la Madone 

is not the longest climb, it’s not the steepest climb, it’s not the hardest climb. It’s Lance’s 

climb. When he wanted to test his fitness, he went here. Twelve kilometres. All out. 

Greatness came from this mountain. That’s why Lance named this bike after it.

All carbon is not equal. And we like it that way. We’re one of the only companies that 

makes its own carbon frames, and we don’t share our production facility or processes 

with other manufacturers. We’ve invested the engineering and research to learn how to

That’s not just marketing mumbo-jumbo. The 2010 6 Series is lighter, stiffer, more 

comfortable, and better integrated, and we’ve got the specs to prove it. 

150 grams may not sound like a lot, but it’s a third of a pound. That’s how much lighter 

the new 6 Series is compared to the old one. We also stiffened the front end by 17%, for 

more confident handling as you bomb into corners or descend at speed. To add to that, 

we made the new 6 Series more comfortable, with a newly designed and patent-pending 

fork steerer and seatmast to absorb the bumps and road even better than before. And 

finally, new for 2010, we took integration to a whole new level. An exquisite internal cable 

system translates to beautiful lines and perfect shifting. And the new recessed DuoTrap 

sensor system accepts most popular training computers for seamless integration.

Our innovative new cable system doesn’t just make the 6 Series rocket 

ship look amazing. It allows the bike to shift flawlessly and brake better, 

and it’s simpler to assemble and maintain. 

THE DUOTRAP SENSOR: SAY GOODBYE TO ZIP TIES 

So what else can we do with the Madone 6 Series that’s never 

been done before? Integrate a computer sensor into the frame 

that measures speed, distance, and cadence. And it works with all 

the major players who use ANT+ wireless technology: Bontrager, 

Garmin, PowerTap, Cateye, SRM…you get the idea. 

SHIMANO DI2 INTEGRATION 

This year, Shimano will make available their new Di2 electronic 

drivetrain. Already race proven, this innovation is sure to be the 

hottest thing to hit the bicycle drivetrain biz in a while. Too bad 

most framesets can’t integrate with Di2 seamlessly — except for 

the Madone 6 Series. A specially designed battery mount and 

Di2-specific cable routing and stops mean perfectly clean and 

seamless integration with the future of cycling.

LOAD PATH TUBE SHAPING — LIGHTER, STIFFER, AND 

MORE COMFORTABLE 

Tube shapes matter. They affect comfort, ride quality, frame weight, 

and aerodynamics. Finding the best combination has no quick 

formula. The variables are many and the possibilities are infinite. 

That’s why we put the best engineering team in the industry on 

the job to develop the new 6 Series. By examining force loads on 

every inch of a frame, they reduced enough material to make 

the frame 100 grams lighter. Along the way, they also laterally 

stiffened the front end by 17% for even better handling. 

INTRODUCING THE FIRST ASYMMETRIC FORK 

A bicycle fork does a lot of grunt work. It has to handle extraordinary 

force loads, give you lateral rigidity when cornering, and offer frontal 

compliance to absorb road imperfections. The new 6 Series 

Bontrager Race XXX Lite fork does all of this and more. By re-shaping 

the fork steerer from round to oval, we achieve 15% more frontal 

compliance to smooth the road, 20% more lateral stiffness when 

cornering, and 30 grams less weight than the 2009 fork. That means 

a lighter, stronger, better-handling, and more comfortable ride. 

A BOTTOM BRACKET SHELL THAT’S TOP DOG 

Most bottom bracket shells are 68mm wide, because that’s the 

width of the standard bottom bracket. But for Madone, standard 

isn’t good enough. Our bottom bracket shell is 90mm. This wider, 

stiffer shell allows quicker takeoff, easier climbing, and faster 

cornering. To improve on the standard, we eliminated the stock 

bottom bracket cups by molding the bearing surfaces right into 

the frameset, out of carbon fibre. This requires the precise control 

and flawless consistency of our proprietary Net Molding process. 

Out with the old, in with the better. 

RIDE TUNED SEATMAST. COMFORT BY DESIGN 

Our seatmast system was already light and comfortable. 

We could’ve left well enough alone…but we didn’t. By reshaping 

our seatmast, we dropped another 20 grams and added 43% 

more vertical compliance. Now it’s lighter and more comfy than ever.

Trek Limited Lifetime Warranty 

Trek Bicycle Corporation provides each original retail purchaser of the bicycle a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship in the bicycle frame, except the fork and the Session model, when 

purchased from an authorized Trek dealer. Rigid forks and all Bontrager components and accessories, except consumables such as tyres and inner tubes, are warranted for 5 years. Trek Bicycle Corporation likewise 

warrants all other original parts on the bicycle, excluding Shimano parts, suspension forks and rear shock absorbers, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Suspension forks and rear shock absorbers 

shall be covered by the stated warranty of their original manufacturers. Paint and decals are warranted for one year. This warranty is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of a defective frame, fork, 

or defective part and is the sole remedy of the warranty. This warranty applies only to the original owner and is not transferable. Claims under this warranty must be made through an authorized Trek dealer. 

Proof of purchase is required. A warranty registration card must be completed and received by the Trek Bicycle Corporation before a warranty claim may be processed. This warranty covers bicycles and components 

outside the United States only if purchased through an authorized international Trek distributor or Trek dealer within the country of purchase. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, improper assembly 

or follow-up maintenance, installation of parts or accessories not originally intended or compatible with the bicycle as sold, damage or failure due to accident, misuse or neglect, or modification of the frame, 

fork or components. 

Trek Bicycle Corporation shall not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you. 

This warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights, and those rights may vary from place to place. This warranty does not affect the statutory rights of the consumer.
