Train Shutdown Brochure - Transperth

Building the new Fremantle Line tunnel is almost complete.
To connect the new tunnel to the Transperth
rail network, two shutdowns are needed.
The first will take place during the second week of the
July school holidays, from 7pm on Friday, 12 July to last
service on Wednesday, 17 July.
From Thursday, 18 July trains will start using the new
Fremantle Line tunnel, and there will be platform changes
in Perth Station. The Fremantle to Midland through-service
will also return.
A second shutdown is needed so trains can switch
between the Fremantle and Joondalup line tunnels, which
improves how the network operates.
This will take place from 3pm on Wednesday, 31 July to
last service on Sunday, 4 August.
The shutdowns will impact all train lines in some way.
Love your sports?
Two AFL games will be impacted. The West Coast versus
Fremantle derby on Sunday, 14 July, and West Coast
versus Gold Coast on Saturday, 3 August.
For rugby fans, the Western Force versus ACT Brumbies
game on Saturday, 13 July will be impacted.

What services are impacted?
• Perth Station and Perth Underground will be closed
• Fremantle Line: services cancelled
• Joondalup Line: services terminate at Leederville
• Mandurah Line: services terminate at Esplanade
• Armadale Line: services terminate at McIver
(weekend services terminate at Claisebrook) and will
operate an all-stops pattern on an altered timetable
• Midland Line: services terminate at McIver (weekend
services terminate at Claisebrook)
• Thornlie Line: services cancelled (passengers will
need to catch Armadale Line services throughout
shutdown) and bus replacements will operate
between Cannington and Thornlie stations
Train replacement buses will be
operating throughout the closure.
There will be no replacement buses between Esplanade
and McIver stations and Perth.
Transperth encourages passengers to plan ahead and
allow at least 45 minutes extra travel time.

31 JULY-4 AUG

What services are impacted?
• Perth Underground will be closed
• Perth Station will remain open
• Fremantle Line: services cancelled
• Joondalup Line: services terminate at Leederville
• Mandurah Line: services terminate at Esplanade
• Armadale, Midland and Thornlie lines: no impact
Train replacement buses will be
operating throughout the closure.
There will be no replacement buses between Esplanade
Station and Perth.
Transperth encourages passengers to plan ahead and
allow at least 45 minutes extra travel time.
