Sooloos Collections: Advanced Guide
Focus
In addition to the Explore and Search functions, the collection can be viewed in a wide variety off ways using
the Focus feature.
Focus allows
us to restrict the number of albumss shown on the screen according to a number of criteria.
A ‘Focus’ could be as simple as a Date range 3 , a single Genre or a combination made up of these, , Genres,
Composer names, Credits, Labels, Tags and Moods or even audio Quality. For more detail on using Focus
see page 40.
Focus is very
powerful and the best results for a large or complex collection rely on the database
quality.
When we Focus the number of Albums in immediate view is reduced to those t matching the chosen criteria.
This can be a very powerful way to zoom in on a small number of Albums.
A Focus can be Saved and Loaded later, but onlyy on the Touchscreen Control.

3 In the screen example above we see a problem in that the Date range is running from 0. Normally we should be
surprised to see any dates earlier than 1930. A zero range-start makes it hard too use the Release Date slider. The zero
has come from
albums with incorrect orr corrupted release date information. It is i straightforward to Focus on these and
correct the Album data, possibly with eference to the informationn sources given on page 31. .
