6. When correctly tensed, it should be possible
to deflect the V-belt 10 to 12 mm
between the alternator and the crankshaft
pulley when light pressure is exerted.
7. Tighten the fastening bolts on the alternator,
spindle and tensioning pulley.
Note:
- Check the V-belt tension adjustment
again after the first 50 km.
- Have the V-belt tension checked by a
DAF BUS Dealer as soon as possible.
ADJUSTING THE BRAKES
The vehicle is fitted with automatic brake
shoe adjusters. A clicking noise will be heard
when the adjuster cam is backed off. Consult
a DAF BUS dealer in case a vehicle
with automatic brake shoe adjusters needs
to be adjusted.
RENEWING THE FUEL FILTER
Diesel fuel is combustible
and may not be exposed to
open fire or heat sources
such as a hot engine. Catch
leaking fuel in a suitable can.
1. Remove the fuel filter.
2. Tighten the new filter with hand pressure
only.
3. Bleed the fuel system.
4. Check for possible leakage with the
engine running.
