PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AFTER
THE WINTER SEASON
COOLING SYSTEM
- The antifreeze mixture may be left in the
cooling system during the summer.
- In climates where the temperature never
falls below O°C, a corrosion-inhibiting
agent should be added to the coolant.
The coolant must at all times comply with
specification ASTM D 3306, BS 6580 or
SAE-J-1034.
WINDSCREEN WASHER RESERVOIR
- It is advisable to add windscreen cleaner
(DAF Part No. 0610764) to the water
in the screenwash reservoir.
EMERGENCY REPAIRS
SERIOUS OIL LEAKAGE
In the case of a (serious) oil leakage from
any of the driveline components, drive the
vehicle (if this is still possible) to the nearest
workshop.
The levels of oil should
always be kept above the minimum
level.
If the oil level threatens to
drop below the minimum
mark then the vehicle should
be stopped and the engine
turned off.
VOITH AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
Checking the oil level:
1. Make sure the vehicle is standing on level
ground.
2. Move the gear lever into neutral.
3. Let the engine idle.
4. Check the oil level with the dipstick. At
the minimum the temperature of 60°C
the oil level should be between the minimum
and maximum mark.
