38. DIFFERENTIAL LOCK SWITCH*
The rear axle’s differential lock is switched
on and off using this switch. Also see
“DRIVING”.
The warning lamp is lit when the differential
lock is switched on.
39. EXTRA VEHICLE REVERSE
CONTROL SWITCH
This switch must be operated
simultaneously with the preselector switch
“R” in order to engage reverse gear.
40. CIGAR LIGHTER/INSPECTION LAMP
SOCKET
- Push in the cigar lighter and wait: it will
spring back automatically when ready
for use.
- Withdraw the lighter from the socket.
When the vehicle lighting is switched on,
the cigar lighter is also illuminated.
The cigar lighter socket can also be used to
connect up an inspection lamp.
41. CENTRAL SAFETY SWITCH*
When the central safety switch is pushed
in:
- the engine is automatically switched off,
- the delivery of fuel is shut off by
interrupting the electric circuit,
- the hazard warning lights start to flash
and the electrical system is de-energized
with the exception of the tachograph.
WARNING LAMPS ON THE DISPLAY
PANEL
The function of various lights on the display
panel are explained below.
RETARDER TEMPERATURE WARNING
LAMP (A2)*
This lamp flashes when the retarder’s oil
temperature goes above 150°C. If this happens,
turn off the retarder. Also see
“DRIVING”.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT
TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHT (A3)
If the temperature in the engine com-partment
reaches higher than 110°C then this
lamp will be lit continuously. A buzzer will
also sound whilst the lamp is lit.
- If the warning lamp remains lit, the
buzzer sounds and the cooling water
gives an indication of cooling difficulties,
then;
Stop the vehicle, allow the engine to idle
for a couple of minutes and then turn
the engine off.
- If the warning lamp is lit without further
indication of cooling difficulties;
