11. YELLOW CENTRAL WARNING
LAMP*
The yellow central warning lamp works in
the same way as the red central warning
lamp. Direct action does not have to be
undertaken because the malfunction is less
serious. The
problem can again be seen on the display
panel (e.g. critical fuel level) and appropriate
action can be taken in time.
12. RED CENTRAL WARNING LAMP
This warning lamp lights up when the ignition
is turned on and the engine does not run.
The lamp must go out when the engine
starts.
The red central warning lamp lights up when
an important malfunction occurs in a vehicle
system. The information panel shows which
vehicle function has activated the warning.
In the event of too high coolant water
temperature, a high engine compartment
temperature, a low oil pressure, or a low
pressure in the pneumatic system, a buzzer
will also sound.
Stop without delay and switch off the engine
immediately when the red central warning
lamp lights up, unless otherwise stated.
13. PARKING BRAKE WARNING
LAMP
The warning lamp lights up when the parking
brake is activated or if the air pressure
in the parking brake circuit is too low to
release the parking brake. The warning light
remains lit until there is sufficient pressure.
Warning:
Never drive whilst the warning lamp is lit.
Stop immediately if the warning lamp comes
on whilst driving.
The parking brake may be used as an
emergency brake when there is a fault
with the foot brake system.
14. DOOR-CONTROLLED BRAKE
WARNING LAMP*
This lamp comes on when the doorcontrolled
brake is actuated.
15. RETARDER WARNING LAMP
This lamp lights up when the retarder is in
operation.
16. WARNING LAMP VEHICLE NOT
ON DRIVING LEVEL
The warning lamp lights up for a few
seconds when the ignition is switched on,
just as a routine check on the operation.
If the warning lamp starts to flash (whilst
driving), the air pressure for the electronic
chassis height adjustment is too low. Stop,
run the engine until the maximum system
pressure is reached, then turn the engine
and ignition off. Wait for five seconds before
switching on the ignition and starting the
engine.
If the warning lamp does not go out, the
vehicle should be driven to the nearest DAF
BUS dealer at a speed no greater than 15
km/h.
IF THE WARNING LAMP REMAINS LIT
(WHILST DRIVING), THE CHASSIS IS NOT
AT THE CORRECT DRIVING LEVEL. USE
THE SWITCH (35) TO BRING THE
VEHICLE TO THE CORRECT DRIVING
LEVEL.
