Hotels with Convention Centers

Carlsbad, CA – Today, 71% of the top
exhibition centers in North America now
offer at least one hotel which is attached,
adjacent, across or within, according to
Trade Show Executive’s 4th Annual Report of
Hotel/Convention Center Complexes. This is
up 8 facilities from a year ago when 70%
of the exhibition centers offered this
convenience.
Once considered a competitive
advantage, a hotel in close proximity is
now a necessity. As a result, 4% of those
without a hotel strategically located are in
some stage of the development to make
that a reality in the years ahead.
From a macro perspective, there are
over 62 million hotel rooms in close
proximity to convention centers in
North America, adding some needed
convenience for the trade show attendee.
Here is how the numbers break down:

212 or 71%
• Without a convenient hotel:
75 or 25%
• Proposed or under construction:
12 or 4%

facilities: 197
• All-in-One: 55 or 28%
• Attached/Adjacent/Across:
132 or 67%
• Proposed or under construction:
10 or 5%
n Total number of Canadian exhibition
facilities: 11
• All-in-One: 1 or 9%
• Attached/Adjacent/Across: 9 or 82%
• Proposed or under construction:
1 or 9%
n Total number of Mexican exhibition
facilities: 16
• All-in-One: 1 or 6%
