Top Cities
Las Vegas hosted six Dashboard shows
totaling 1,608,107 nsf. MINExpo and Interbike
were the largest. Health + Fitness Business
Expo was the smallest at 26,000 nsf.
Chicago was ranked second with two
shows — IMTS and BusCon — totaling
1,297,893 nsf. Orlando hosted Surf Expo
and Solar Power International but was a
distant third with a total of 493,000 nsf.
Next Month
Look for reports on Gold 100 shows such
as Pack Expo International in Chicago,
which topped the 1,000,000 nsf mark
and was expected to draw more than
46,000 attendees. Late October is also
synonymous with the SEMA Show and
the AAPEX Automotive Aftermarket
Products Expo. Other major shows that
will appear in the Dashboard include
GIE+Expo and the major cancer conference
held by the American Society of
Therapeutic Radiation & Oncology
that is known simply as ASTRO. TSE
Big Fish, Big Pond (top). Fish bowls were not
for business cards or candy at SuperZoo. The
growing pet industry show offered the latest
accoutrements for dogs, cats and, of course,
tropical fi sh.
Pedaling Faster (right). Interbike reported a
7.6% boost in fl oor space and record attendance.
Interbike was part of an overall strong performance
by Gold 100 shows in September.
One in Every Garage (left). Here’s just one of
the big-ticket machines hauled to Las Vegas for
MINExpo. The quadrennial show bounced back with
46.7% more fl oor space than recessionary 2008.
