IV. WHAT IS WARRANTED
1. MOPAR ACCESSORIES AND AIR CONDITIONING AND AUDIO PRODUCTS SYSTEMS LIMITED WARRANTY
MOPAR Accessories, Audio Products and Electronic Accessories installed on a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge
dealer are covered either by the 12-month/12,000-mile MOPAR Basic Limited Warranty above, or by the remainder of the 3-year/36,000-mile Basic New
Vehicle Limited Warranty, whichever is more favorable to the customer.
2. MOPAR PARTS BASIC 12-MONTH/12,000-MILE WARRANTY
a. Except as listed above, MOPAR parts sold over the counter or wholesaled are warranted against defects in workmanship or materials for
12 months/unlimited mileage for parts (exchange) only. Parts installed on a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep
or Dodge dealer are warranted for 12 months/12,000 miles for both parts and labor, or for 12 months/unlimited mileage for parts (exchange)
only, whichever is more favorable to the customer.
b. 12-month/12,000-mile MOPAR Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of towing a vehicle to the nearest authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge
dealer if the failure of a covered part causes the vehicle to be inoperative.
c. If a MOPAR part is installed in a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer, and if, while that part is still
under warranty, it causes other parts to be damaged or to fail, those other parts will be repaired or replaced under warranty, regardless of whether
the other parts were covered by a DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation warranty at the time of failure. A MOPAR part use? to replace a failed
MOPAR part that is still under warranty is covered ONLY for the remainder of the replacement part’s existing warranty.
d. MOPAR Gaskets and Seals are sold “AS IS” without warranty of any kind.
e. MOPAR Performance Parts (shown by a MOPAR part number beginning with the letter “P”) are sold “AS IS” without warranty of any kind by Mopar.
3. MASTER SHIELD® RUST PROTECTION LIMITED WARRANTY (NEW VEHICLES ONLY)
The Master Shield Rust Protection treatment is warranted for the registered lifetime of the new vehicle, provided that the:
• vehicle does not exceed 11,000-lb gross vehicle weight
• Master Shield treatment was properly applied within three months of the new vehicle’s original in-service date
DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation warrants that if any part of a new vehicle properly treated with Master Shield Rust Protection rusts through
(is perforated from inside out), DaimlerChrysler will repair and/or replace the damaged part(s) at no charge, up to a cumulative limit of $2,000 in
combined parts and labor costs per vehicle.
NOTE: This warranty does NOT apply to surface or cosmetic rust; rust caused by external damage from dents, scratches, chipped paint or
surface rust resulting from other internal cavity perforation; wear and tear from normal driving; vehicles not continuously registered for road use;
vehicle manufacturer’s defects; the vehicle’s exhaust system; vehicle’s ßoor pans load area of commercial vehicles; pickup truck bed areas;
defects covered by a dealer’s or manufacturer’s New Vehicle Limited Warranties; or vehicles not inspected as required by Master Shield Rust
Protection Procedures and Warranty book. Only the selling dealer may validate a Master Shield warranty.
4. MASTER SHIELD PAINT SEALANT LIMITED WARRANTY (NEW VEHICLES ONLY)
The Master Shield Paint Sealant treatment is warranted to the Þrst registered owner only, for a period of three years from the date of its application to the
vehicle, provided that:
• the Master Shield sealant was properly applied within 60 days of the vehicle’s original in-service date
• damage to the exterior Þnish is reported immediately to a participating Master Shield dealer, who follows the proper claims-processing procedure
DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation warrants to the Þrst registered owner of a treated vehicle that if, within three years of the sealant’s application on any
properly-treated exterior Þnish, the vehicle is damaged by weather-induced discoloration, loss of gloss or fading, DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation will
repair and retreat the damaged area(s) free of charge, provided that the vehicle is Þrst inspected by a participating Master Shield dealer and is prior
authorized by DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation. This warranty is not transferable.
NOTE: This warranty does NOT apply to damage caused by owner negligence, carelessness or failure to use prescribed maintenance steps;
damage caused by collision, Þre, stone, or similar objects causing a break or puncture of the sealant; damage from acid rain, smog, industrial
fallout, or paints coming in contact with vehicle’s surface paint; or damage caused by any modiÞcation or alteration to the vehicle’s surface.
5. MASTER SHIELD® FABRIC PROTECTOR LIMITED WARRANTY (NEW VEHICLES ONLY)
The Master Shield Fabric Protector treatment is warranted to the Þrst registered owner only, for a period of three years from the date of its application to
the vehicle, provided that:
• the Master Shield treatment was properly applied within 30 days of the new vehicle’s original in-service date
