finishing and polishing techniques (Figure 6). Differentiating
the performance of Esthet•X® following such treatment
is the material’s innate polish, which improves over
time as the resin functions intraorally. This ensures lasting
smoothness and a natural luster for the completed resin
restoration. Esthet•X® also possesses radiopacity that enables
simple review of its performance during subsequent
evaluation by clinician and auxiliary staff. DENTSPLY
Caulk has recently launched Esthet•X® HD (High Definition
Micro Matrix Restorative), an upgrade to Esthet•X®.
Esthet•X® HD offers excellent shading, handling, and
physical properties. With a newly optimized glass filler
package, it now provides a faster, easier-to-achieve polish.
Aesthetic repair or enhancement of anterior teeth is both
feasible and predictable using contemporary composite
resins. To achieve an optimal outcome, the aesthetic dentist
needs only keen observational skills, patience, and
meticulous application of clinical technique. ■
