An important message from Bluey Day
A 10,000km drive around Australia,
and in a Fire Truck! What’s this about?
Bluey Day, the kids cancer charity, is asking for your support as we
travel around Australia in our trusty old Bluey Day Fire Truck. Our
mission: to raise money for kids with cancer and other illnesses.
Now in our 14 th year, Bluey
Day has become a widely
recognised fundraising cause
and each year Emergency Services
Members band together with their
friends and family to shave their
heads or colour their hair in support
of kids with cancer and other
serious illnesses. This year, from
6 August until 31 October we’ll be
holding a series of 48 events right
across the country and we’d like
you to join in the fun by getting
some people together and coming
to see us when we arrive in your
town. Within Melbourne, our
official Roadshow launch will be
7am-10am on Thursday 6 t h August
and we’d love to see Vic Police staff
(preferably in uniform) there on the

“We chatted to lots of our
fundraisers last year and the best
thing we could do is to offer people
an opportunity to come and join
in the Bluey Day fun”, says Justin
Eastcott, Bluey Day CEO. “As we’re
only a small team of four, we
decided that a Roadshow spread
over three months would be the
best way for us to say ‘thanks’ to all
of the great people who help us to
what we do. So, instead of just one
Bluey Day like in the past, we’re
essentially having 48 Bluey Day’s
all around Australia….including
Bluey Day Melbourne, Bluey Day
Geelong, Bluey Day Horsham, Bluey
Day Ballarat (and the list goes
on). It’s a massive project, but one
that the team here is very excited
about and we are looking forward
to meeting lots of Police officers
as we travel throughout Victoria.
Our Fire Truck further adds to the
uniqueness of the journey, with its
colourful livery attracting lots of
attention wherever it goes.”
Bluey Day is asking you to visit

interest now – it doesn’t have to be
a headshave (we know that’s kind
of scary), and if you can’t make it

to one of our events, your own BBQ
with some friends and family is a
very easy way to support the cause
and help raise some money for the
kids. Don’t think difficult or time
consuming – it can be something
really simple and fun and we’re
happy to provide you with support
and ideas along the way.

kids of your own, there’s also our
‘Adopt‐A-Bluey’ Schools Program
whereby each class can look after
Bluey our mascot, a Blue Heeler toy
dog, and learn about how Bluey
and his friends in the Emergency
Services help kids less fortunate.
We’ve already had some great
feedback from teachers and parents
and we know the kids will just fall
in love with him. Feel free to pass

back to benefit the sick kids who live
