OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE – <strong>Connection</strong> <strong>Guidelines</strong> for High<br />
Voltage <strong>Connection</strong>s and Embedded Generators<br />
<strong>CEOP8079</strong><br />
Environmental Law: Any Law, whether statute or common law, concerning environmental<br />
matters, and includes but is not limited to Laws concerning land use, development,<br />
pollution, contamination, waste disposal, toxic and hazardous substances, climate change,<br />
greenhouse gases, energy use or efficiency, water use or access and conservation of natural<br />
or cultural resources.<br />
Generator: <strong>Connection</strong> Applicant developing embedded generation greater than 10kW<br />
without the use of an inverter.<br />
HV or High Voltage: Voltage nominally 11kV and above.<br />
NSW Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services:<br />
The accrediting agency responsible for the accreditation of service providers to undertake<br />
contestable work in New South Wales and any successor charged with the same or similar<br />
responsibilities.<br />
Land Access Investigation Agreement (LAIA): An agreement between the parties for<br />
assessing, investigating and obtaining relevant approvals in relation to environmental and<br />
planning and applicable Registrable Instruments associated with the construction of the<br />
Electricity Works required in order to provide <strong>Connection</strong> Services and Distribution Services<br />
to the <strong>Connection</strong> Applicant.<br />
Land Tenure: Such rights or interest in land required by <strong>Essential</strong> <strong>Energy</strong> to protect the<br />
Electricity Works located on such land and includes the Registrable Instruments,<br />
Law: Includes any requirement of any statute, rule, regulation, statutory instrument,<br />
proclamation, order, ordinance or by-law whether Commonwealth, state, territorial or local.<br />
Major Electrical Plant/Equipment: means any electrical equipment (including overhead<br />
lines and underground cables) associated with the supply of electricity at high voltage, the<br />
conductors of which are live or can be made live. Examples of major plant include Power<br />
Transformer Circuits and Regulators associated with Transmission, Subtransmission, Zone<br />
Substations, Switching Stations and Generation Substations.<br />
NATA: National Association of Testing Authorities.<br />
OLTC: On Line Tap Changer.<br />
Registrable Instruments: Land dealings in registrable form for the creation of easements<br />
in favour of, or the transfer of land to, <strong>Essential</strong> <strong>Energy</strong>.<br />

VT: Voltage Transformer.<br />
