The Naval Medical Research Unit—Dayton is a member of the
Department of Defense Tri-Service Toxicology Research facility
located on Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The unit has the ability to
leverage Navy, Air Force, and Army resources in the performance
of military relevant toxicology. This synergy provides the DoD with
the most relevant research focusing on the health and environmental
effects to protect the warfighter and address fleet occupational and
deployment exposures of concern.

Neuroscience Associates (NSA) provides mass production
neurohistologic services. Using High Throughput MultiBrain
technology, up to 40 tissues are processed simultaneously to achieve
uniform section thickness and staining. NSA specializes in highly
sensitive Silver Degeneration Stains, eliminating false negatives of
neural degeneration. NSA’s Campbell-Switzer Silver Stain sharply
reveals Alzheimer’s pathology in brains of human and AD rodent
models. NSA also provides immunohistochemistry.

Substances and Disease Registry evaluates the health effects of
exposure to hazardous substances at sites on the Environmental

petitioned.

Neuroservice provides in vitro electrophysiological-based assays
to investigate the safety/toxicity profile of any compounds on CNS
functions. Molecules from drug discovery, cosmetic, chemistry,
agro-chemistry programs could be evaluated on the main CNS
