Hepregen has commercialized HepatoPac, a bio-engineered
micro-liver platform, for use in drug discovery and development.
HepatoPac reduces attrition rates in the clinic by increasing
predictivity of in vitro studies. HepatoPac creates an environment
where primary hepatocytes retain biochemical functions of in
vivo liver with long-term viability. Utilizing HepatoPac, toxicity
screening, mechanistic toxicology, identification of secondary
metabolites, drug-drug interaction, and transporter/clearance studies
can all be performed in vitro with increased confidence of the
clinically-relevant predictive value.
